Question # 751
Hi Curtis,
I have two questions about receiver battery packs.
1-I currently have 2000 mAh NiMH Panasonic battery pack. I am going to run a Fury Extreme with 4 digital(cyclic and tail) + 1 coreless nondigital(throttle) servos.
I am not into hard 3D yet and on a typical flight day, I make an average of three flights.
Do you think that this NiMH pack would work for me?
2-How do you feel about NiMH batteries with digital servos? I see so many R/C pilots; they still prefer NiCds over NiMHs when running digital servos.
Thank you.

Answer
Honestly, I have no experience with the NiMH batteries. But, I have heard bad things about the NiMH batteries in helicopters. I have been told that they do not hold up well under the vibration. So I have never run them.
I have flown the Lithium Ion batteries with good luck. I have also heard good things about the Lithium polymer batteries.
I hope this helps.
